INSIDER "You Know Me"

We are spoiled! 2 new songs so quickly in a row

but which couldn't be more different.

Yes, "you know me" is really different from what you are used to from EES. BUT, it comes at just the right time. He's crazy and basically screams that we all leave the hatred and the negativity behind us. We know this song was in EES` drawer for a loooong time and he was just waiting to get it out at the right time.

The song would never have been released if Syndicate (who is by the way one of the main producers of the song "Original" by EES) had not sent the song to EES via WhatsApp to simply say "look what I've made." , but I will certainly never use it "and to ask what EES thinks of it. EES jumped up immediately and couldn't suppress the grin on his face anymore. He loved the beat and the "crazy / mess" in the song. He really wanted to produce the song again and bring in a third rapper.

So EES went ahead and tinkered like crazy with the demo tracks he had. When he finished, he started writing to some well-known rappers in Namibia (whom we don't want to mention here). Almost EVERYONE canceled and said the song is too difficult and complicated to rap on it. But then Jericho (with whom EES already has some great songs on its older albums) came around the corner and said he could easily rap something.

When everything was ready to mix and produce the song, EES heard from Syndicate that their studio had been broken into and the PC with the original tracks of the song had been stolen. Usually you throw a song like that in the bin, because you can't really work it up properly. But as we know EES, he doesn't! He tried everything and wrote to professional recording studios to somehow get the song right. And actually the Nautilus Studio managed to bend the song so that it can be released!

The song is full of TEXTS, we don't want to go into too much detail, but of course we have to explain one or two lines from EES to you:

"Don't call me Lanie, cause I'm bringing Kasi back - what cultural appropriation - can't

you see its black! "

Ei ei ei, already tough for EES, but here he lets off steam a bit, and indeed addresses the topic that he occasionally gets comments from haters that he is appropriating the Namibian culture for his videos and songs.

His answer is that some people forget their culture and he is more likely to bring it back.

"I will put Nam on the world map - while making Trump look like an idiot he is - with our without YOU!" It is clear that EES and Trump (who got Mr. Bean's eyes in this video!) Will never become friends. But in this song he made it clear again that he stands behind his politics and even if he were completely alone, he would never give up and continue to expose Trump and show everyone what a jumping jack Trump is! :) So, now it's enough to knock with sayings.

Of course you can't just shoot a music video these days. And traveling to Namibia was difficult this year due to the whole corona mess. But thanks to modern facial recognition software, EES brought photos to life, which then rap the text! :) EES had to rap the entire song with the software and then the photos of the other rappers were overlaid.

A huge effort, with several GB of stock footage, but it was worth it. The Energy and the Vibe created one of the craziest music videos from EES.

We, as the NAMFLAVA Family, of course know that this is not a song that the radios will play, but it wasn't meant for that either. However, we will push the song online so that it might make it onto one or the other HipHop playlist or online blog and others will think "what a crazy song"!
